Sony just went H.A.M and released an Android M developers preview for twelve Xperia devices. In a blog post, Sony goes over the importance of giving developers a chance to test their apps on Android M and play with new APIs.
To be exact, Android M developers preview is available for Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia E3, Xperia M2, Xperia T2 Ultra, and Xperia T3. This is impressive in terms of device support, considering the fact that no other OEMs are doing this.
Flashing Android M doesn’t seem overly complicated, all you need to do is download the files and flash with fastboot. Note that, this developer’s preview is not meant to be used as your daily driver.
If someone could convince Samsung, HTC, Motorola and LG to do this that would be great.
