With Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event only a few weeks away the rumor mill has picked up speed. One major rumor we have heard a lot about is that Samsung plans to unveil not just the Galaxy S6 but the Galaxy S Edge or S6 Edge.
The edge variant is rumored to come in two variants, one with a single edge coming off the right edge of the screen similar to the Galaxy Note Edge and one with two edge displays. The dual edge rumor is so crazy that it seems believable.
The edge variants are expected to feature the same specifications as the regular S6. That means a Exynos 64 bit chip, 4 gigabytes of ram, 20 megapixel camera, improved fingerprint sensor, and a 5.1 or 5 inch main display with a QHD resolution. Of course the edge variants will be wider than the standard model.
The first Note Edge was the first truly innovative phone we have seen in a while. The Note Edge added some new multitasking and notification features. That only used one edge screen, but how will two work? For two to work Samsung will have to make the edges have some new and exciting functionality. One edge makes more sense than two but we will have to wait and see.
Now remember that these are rumors at this point and have not been confirmed yet. We will see if Samsung even unveils a S Edge phone at all.
